Sad to see this restaurant with its unique cuisine will be closing this summer.

The opening of Nancy Go Yaya was among the top of anticipated restaurant openings of 2021 in Vancouver, but only a few months later, the difficult decision was made to close the restaurant.

At the end of last fall the Singaporean styled “eating house” in Chinatown opened after much anticipation.

Nancy Go Yaya’s progress has been hampered for a few months because of the pandemic, but the opening for her sibling spots Kissa Tanto and Bao Bei seemed imminent as last spring came around. Sadly, it would take several months until they welcomed the first customers.

On June 3rd, it was revealed that Nancy Go Yaya was going to be Nancy Go Bye Bye!

The closing will be gradual and will not be swift. Nancy Go Yaya plans to continue to provide its service through the third weekend in July, after offering their final brunch service on the first weekend of June.

The owners of the eatery at 265 E Pender St. are not just walking away from the location, and they’re hoping that the community will be able to help them with deciding what to do next. For example, should they open up their space for private parties, or use it for pop-ups?
